Modern Quill Update

We’ve been far too quiet for a little longer than we like. However, times are good, and we are working with a great start-up called Thryve powered by Gloo. They needed a technical writer to help distill vision and strategies into actionable processes leveraging the platform they have developed. To the platform users and their customers, this provides an additional value add. To some, it may seem tedious, but for us integrators here at Modern Quill, it’s a joy.

Wait, what is an integrator?

Because we like tangents and context to what we are saying, let’s take a pause. Entrepreneurial Operating System or EOS briefly defines both in their blog here. A visionary is the big picture person who conceived the original idea and continues to refine it for the business. And the Integrator is one that brings the chaos of those big ideas into a structured, digestible strategy, objectives, and tasks to ensure the vision can be consumed by others and realized.

To clarify, one is not more important than the other—both the visionary and the integrator are essential to a successful business as defined by EOS.

What is Thryve?

Thryve is a texting platform for churches to better communicate with their members and meet them in all their digital communities, eventually. Right now, it’s texting, but their vision is beyond that of a single medium.

One of our favorite features is the ability for a person to text a church and ask for prayer. The platform takes that response and lets the church staff know to pray. Additionally, it allows direct communication with people to let them know they are being prayed for and will enable churches to follow up with that individual.

That is one feature, and there are several on Thryve that can be used to help people in their journeys through life. And that is where Modern Quill comes in. We are helping build out strategies that utilize the existing and upcoming features of the Thryve platform for churches to better come beside people. We’re working closely with the visionaries at Thryve and Gloo to capture their vision. We then help create processes and instructions that churches can quickly and easily customize to their own needs.

We know it sounds like tedious work, but we’re enjoying the heck out of it because we get to do what we love, write. And we love the idea that ultimately the work we are doing is helping others.
